Here is my classroom library.
It used to have a nice carpet in there, but I had to remove it because it didn't meet our fire code requirements.
I have a nice big library area, but it just isn't very cozy.
I have been wanting a new carpet that is up to code, ever since my last one went bye-bye. Well, recently, my prayers were answered when I was contacted by Jim Banks, owner and founder of KidCarpet.com. He offered me the chance of a lifetime! He said I could look through his large selection of beautiful, colorful, and up to code carpets, and choose one for my classroom. In return, I promised to write an honest review of how I feel about the carpet.
It took me a long time to figure out which carpet I would like. I was tempted to get a large 7'6"x12' carpet, but since I already have a decent one, I decided to go for a smaller carpet for my poor library area. There are tons of different carpets to choose from and I finally decided on the Let's Book It Story Rug because it is perfect for a classroom library.
My carpet arrived in 3 days. Really! I am not kidding! In a matter of minutes, I had it set up and my students were so excited to try it out.
They were so happy and content to sit and read on our beautiful new carpet. We all decided it would be best to take our shoes off so we don't get it dirty.
My students and I give our new carpet an A+! It is pretty, comfy, durable, up to code, and we couldn't be happier with the new addition to our classroom.
Don't just take our word for it!
My little yorkie, Max, decided he wanted to try out the carpet too and give his honest opinion. (Since he just had surgery, he was looking for a nice place to relax.)
Max is a very tough critic, but, as you can see, he gives this rug 2 paws up!
My students and I (and Max!) are very grateful to have been given the chance to get a new classroom carpet and I am extremely happy to announce that generous Jim is giving one of my lucky followers a chance to win a FREE carpet of your very own for your classroom!
The lucky winner can choose any rug that is 7'6"x12' or smaller. This prize is valued at $279! This giveaway is only open to educators in the continental United States, since it is too costly to ship outside of the USA. Please do not enter if you do not live in the United States of America.
Please be sure to read the terms on the rafflecopter. All entries will be closely monitored and anyone who does not enter with integrity will be disqualified.
Please tell your colleagues about this contest and share it on as many social media sights as you can. I really want to help spread the word about KidCarpet.com. They are the only "place on the planet where you can buy direct from the factory". Because of this, they offer HUGE savings on classroom rugs and carpets. They even offer 3-4 day shipping on select carpets.
Good luck to everyone!

Math is Elementary
This would look so great in my reading corner.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted a carpet from kidcarpet for so long! I had one at my last school but I'm at a brand new school now (literally, we're in our second year). They just don't have the funds to buy us all carpets yet because they're still recovering from the start-up of our school. I have a wonderful classroom library with over 600 books but no rug to set it off! (I love to go bargain hunting for books so all of those I bought!) *Big sigh* Hopefully one day I'll have one! Hope to win one!
ReplyDeleteI love your classroom library! I love how organized it is. I also love the "no shoes" idea. Thanks for the opportunity to win a beautiful carpet!
The rugs from Kidcarpet are just gorgeous! I would just love one for my classroom!
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Kerry

ReplyDeleteI desperately need a new carpet in my room. Ours is so old it won't stay in place, kids are tripping because the edges are curling up and it has stains galore! Hoping to win a new carpet. I need a place for my 25 kids to sit! :)
ReplyDeleteMy class is growing and I don't have room for all of them. This would be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAmanda

ReplyDeleteI love, love your reading area. My same area is in dire need need of a rug. This would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteI am finishing a three month interim position in a low socioeconomic school and have been offered a full time position for next year. ReplyDeleteI was hired to teach pre-k in a public school in a high poverty, low literacy area of Tarrant County, Texas a week before school. I have 2 classes of 18 students each, one class in English and one in Spanish with no aide. For many of these children, my room is their first encounter with books. I purchased a tiny carpet from Wal-Mart last year, but my library is not well-organized or inviting. I am doing a complete overhaul this summer and would love a nice rug. I love your class pics and hope you don't mind some stealing from Texas. :)
