I am so happy to be a part of the Back to School Blog Hunt! During the month of August, lots of wonderfully talented bloggers will be offering you a back to school idea or freebie each day to help kick start a successful school year.
My post today is about my classroom job badges. I don't know about you, but, if I assign too many jobs to my students, I have a hard time keeping track of who does what. So, I like to keep it simple. Each day, I choose a leader of the day. The leader of the day is in charge of everything. They get to pick whoever they want to help them with their job. They usually pick a door holder, paper passer, and messenger helper. The good news is, I don't have to choose anyone except the leader of the day. The leader of the day wears one of these nifty job badges so everyone in the class and school knows who's in charge. Besides me, that is!
I also made a few more job badges for you. I just use leader of the day and table captain. I have four tables and four table captains. My captains take care of all the passing out and handing in of papers and stuff. They also make sure the table is clean and neat. If you would like to use these badges, just click on the link below. I got my badge holders from Highlights. However, they sell them in Walmart and office supply stores. Enjoy!
I hope you get lots of great back to school ideas from the Blog Hunt! Tomorrow, you'll hear from the very talented Pamela,
from Teaching 4 Real.
And, I hope you have a joyful first day of school. I go back on August 8, but the children don't start until August 20. The day before my birthday!
Thank you! You are making it much easier for me to go back into the classroom.

I'm so glad others find this useful. I can't tell you how "cool" my students feel when they wear a badge. I tried lanyards last year, but they just got in the way and annoyed the children. However, they do look cool, too!

Lori, I really love the job badges idea! I've wanted to do table captains for a long time now, so I think this is going to be the year that I'll implement them. Thank you!

These are fantastic! I love how you put them in the name badges. They must feel so "official" when they are wearing them. Looks like I am heading out to Walmart - thanks for the tip!!
ReplyDeleteLove these Lori! Thank you so much! They are super cute! :)
