Bright Idea: Using Google Docs to Schedule Conferences

Welcome to the Bright Ideas Blog Hop!
This month, I wrote a step-by-step tutorial on how to use Google Docs to easily and painlessly schedule your parent/teacher conferences.

No more emails back and forth.

No more reminder notes sent home.

No more hassle.

I promise!

Just follow the steps outlined below and you will no longer fear scheduling conferences.

You do need to create a google drive account, which most people already have anyway if you use gmail or store your files in google drive.

To begin, go to your google drive page.

It may seem like a lot of steps, but it takes just a few minutes from start to finish. Remind the parents that they CANNOT edit the document from their mobile device. I believe there is an app they can download, but I just told my parents to use their computer to edit the schedule.

I hope you enjoyed my Bright Idea!

  4. Hi Lori! My name is Hollie Faulkner and I am an Elementary Education student at The University of South Alabama. I am currently taking EDM 310 and before enrolling in this class I had never heard of a Google doc. We have used them several times in our class. I have since wondered in what ways I could use this tool in my future classroom. I came across this blog post and thought it was such a great idea to use it for scheduling teacher/parent meetings! It is easy, convenient and saves the time it would take to make a ton phone calls!
