Switching the subject entirely, do you remember when I blogged about how I teach handwriting? If not, you can read all about it here. Anyway, when my students finish their handwriting book, they get this cute certificate, telling the world that they have really neat handwriting. This beautiful girl was the first of my students to earn the certificate. She was so excited. As she was coloring her certificate, she said, "I'm so excited, I'm shaking!" Earning this certificate meant so much to her. Everyone in my class is really looking forward to earning theirs, as well.
If you would like to do this with your students, too, just click on the image below. I guarantee, you will see some really neat handwriting. Sometimes, a little incentive goes a long way!
I love that certificate and the cutie pie holding it!!!!!

How do you store your work stations? Do you only have one activity per container? I am struggling with how to store them for student use and how many "items" per conatiner. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMNG, I store all station activities in color coded bins because I teach 3 grades. I only keep one activity in each container. When my activities are not in use, I store them in Ziploc Baggies.

I've been choosing one student work sample as a "Wow Work" winner each day. This certificate will make it even more fun to encourage neatness. Thanks Lori! I'm just lovin your blog and super ideas!

We forget that it's those lil things that they get SO excited about! She's beaming! We started the "Skinny Pencil Club" that we found on a blog last year and gives them that incentive to print neatly (plus we need to get off the fat pencils anyway). Love the certificate! Thanks Lori!
